School Admissions

Donisthorpe is an extremely popular primary school. We have places for 210 pupils from EYFS to Year 6, in 7 classes across the school.

We can take children into classes at any point in the year, if we have spaces.  We can also take children out of catchment to support parents in finding the right school for them. For children starting school for the first time at 4 years old, our usual intake is late August/early September. Please contact our school office to find out if we have space in your child's year group and to book a place to look around.

Applying for a place Mid Year
If you are interested in a place for your child and wish to move them from another school during the academic year (this is called an  in-year transfer), please call our office to find out if we have any places in the year group before making an application to Leicestershire Local Authority.

We have 1 class in each year group (30 places for each year group) and we are almost full in every class.

Applying for a place in EYFS for 2023-24
Applications are now open for parents looking for a place for their child in EYFS, starting in August 2024, until national closing date on 15th January, 2024. If you miss this date, you can still make an application for your child, though this will be considered as a late. You can do this here:  Leicestershire Local Authority website.

Parents are informed of which school their child has been allocated on Primary National Offer Day- 16 April (or next working day).

The local authority use our Admissions Policy to guide them in offering places at our school.
