We are an Operation Encompass school

Our school is an Operation Encompass school. Operation Encompass is a partnership between schools and the police that helps us support children who may have been exposed to domestic abuse.

When the police attend a domestic abuse incident where a child is present, they notify the school’s safeguarding team before the start of the next school day. This information is shared confidentially and allows us to provide appropriate support for the child during the school day.

Our priority is always the safety, wellbeing and emotional support of our pupils. All information shared through Operation Encompass is handled sensitively and in line with our safeguarding and confidentiality policies.

Domestic abuse is any type of controlling, coercive, threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between people who are, or who have been in a relationship, regardless of gender or sexuality. It can also happen between adults who are related to one another.
