Music at Donisthorpe
At Donisthorpe we intend to give our children the confidence to be able to perform, compose and describe music. Our high-quality music education will engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music, increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.
We aim to create as many opportunities for our children to experience a range of music. These opportunities are given through weekly music lessons, assemblies, extra-curricular clubs and school productions.
We enable children to learn to play and perform with a musical instrument. Through performance, their confidence and self-esteem is built through working together in a team.
Teachers use the scheme of work ‘Charanga’ to support the teaching teaching music. Year 4 children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and perform as part of an ensemble.
