We are an active PTFA, organising School Discos, Chocolate Bingo, the Summer Fair, and other events throughout the year, where permitted under COVID-19 guidance!
Last year was quite different due to COVID-19, however we still managed to fundraise £1000 for the school. This year, due to COVID-19 still being apparent, the events will be tailored to suit the guidance at the time. However, we are going to try and arrange as many fun things as possible for our wonderful children! With the rules and guidance from the Government changing so regularly, events will be arranged one by one and there won’t be a ‘calendar’ of events for the year. So please bear with us during this challenging time, and please help where you can! Over the last few year’s the PTFA has funded a number of things at the school, which include the following: * Christmas Pantomimes * Forest School Days * Interactive White Boards * iPads * Sails for the field * Wellbeing Books This year the school has asked the PTFA to help raise funds for a new Octagonal shelter with picket sides, seating and decking. The School would be looking to have it where the trim trail is currently located on the school field, and understand that this could take a while to raise the necessary funds. The school believe that this project would benefit all of the children at Donisthorpe Primary School. It will be large enough to accommodate a whole class at a time, providing a restful and peaceful location for the children. It would also act as additional shade in the height of the summer for the children and a rain shelter for the colder months. |
The PTFA committee is made up of 6 people, they were elected at the PTFA AGM, which was held on the 15th November 2021. The chair of the PTFA is Wendy Frary, she can be contacted via the Donisthorpe PTFA Facebook page, or at wendyfrary11@gmail.com. She is joined by Sarah Waldron, Ruth Wileman, Annie Cartwright, Matilda Mulcahy and Christine Summers, but please remember that by being a parent at Donisthorpe Primary School you are automatically a member of the PTFA! |
