Computing at Donisthorpe

At Donisthorpe Primary School it is our intention to equip our pupils to use computational thinking and creativity in order to understand and have an impact on the world around them.

We recognise that our children, like many others, are using technology on a daily basis both at home and at school. Therefore, our curriculum is designed to ensure that our children are equipped with the necessary skills that will enable them to become independent learners. Through using a variety of software and hardware the children will be confident for the future where technology plays a part in everyday living.

We firmly believe in the importance of delivering a high-quality Online Safety curriculum alongside the core values of computer science, information technology and digital literacy. Our aim for our children is for them to leave Donisthorpe Primary School as digitally literate individuals whom are equipped to assess online risks, use technology safely and develop their ideas through information and communication technology, which they will be able to apply to their further education and future careers, allowing them to flourish in a rapidly changing digital world.
