At Donisthorpe Primary School we ensure that everyone is treated fairly and without prejudice. We are an inclusive school where we focus on the well-being and progress of every child and where all members of our community are of equal worth.

We believe that the Equality Act provides a framework to support our commitment to valuing diversity, tackling discrimination, promoting equality and fostering good relationships between people. It also ensures that we continue to tackle issues of disadvantage and underachievement of different groups.

Equality Information and Objectives

We teach 'Everyone Belongs' as part of our commitment to promoting equality and diversity in all aspects of school life.

'Everyone Belongs' is a whole school approach that uses resources and a framework to teach children about equality and diversity, in line with British Values, Ofsted guidelines and the Equality Act (2010).

'Everyone Belongs' uses storybooks, lesson plans and assemblies to create and support the development of a whole school community that embraces and celebrates all forms of difference. The school holds detailed plans about how this is taught.
