The pupil premium is additional funding that is given to schools to address the inequalities between children eligible for free school meals and their peers.
The aim of the grant is to close the gap in both attainment and progress between those students eligible for pupil premium and their peers.
We assess the impact of the measures in place by termly data analysis and the use of a deprivation tracker. The Pupil Premium Strategy is reviewed during the Summer Term by the Senior Leadership Team.
Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit however school leaders are required to provide evidence of the impact of their Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) spending. This must be closely linked to improvements in pupil outcomes.

Help Us Access Additional Funding for Your Child’s Education
We want to ensure that all our pupils receive the best possible support in school. Did you know that your child may be eligible for additional funding through the Pupil Premium Grant? This funding is provided to schools by the government to help support eligible children and improve their educational experiences.
Your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium if you receive any of the following:
Income Support
Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The Guaranteed Element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income below £16,190)
Universal Credit with a household income below £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you receive)
Even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and already receives free school meals as part of the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme, applying for Pupil Premium means the school receives extra funding to provide further support for your child.
