Governor Information

Our Local Governing Body (LGB) is a committee of the full board of trustees of Symphony Learning Trust and is not its own legal entity. The level of delegation to Local Governing Bodies is kept under review by the board and may be varied through schemes of delegation, policies and procedures and amendments to the terms of reference.

Full information about our Symphony Learning Trust Board and other Trust Board Documentation here.

Information about Symphony Learning Trust's scheme of delegation is available here.

The purpose and remit of our Local Governing Body

Our Local Governing Body (LGB) meets at least 5 times during the academic year. They provide advice to the Trustees and assist in the decision making of the Trust board by enabling more detailed scrutiny and consideration to be matters at an academy level. They also make decisions, comments or recommendations on such matters relating to the academy within the schemes of financial and general delegation, and in relevant policies and procedures.

At the first meeting of the academic year, the LGB will appoint a chair and vice chair. The chair and vice chair must be local governors who are not employed by the trust.

If you are looking to contact a Governor to make a complaint or share a concern, please note that as per our Complaints Policy, governors do not investigate complaints at Stage 1 or Stage 2. This enables them to be impartial should a complaint be escalated to a Stage 3 governor panel. If you wish to make a complaint, please complete the form in our Complaints Policy and your complaint will be investigated accordingly.

The Clerk to Governors is Mrs Joanne Williams. She can be contacted through the school's office on: [email protected]
